Brachypterous; tegmina as long as or longer than pronotum, but never surpassing the half of abdomen; body largesized, heavy and black or dark brownish; head large and eyes spherical or oval; pronotum dorsally depressed and laterally compressed with the median carina or keel distinct in the metazoan; male 10th anal tergite with two long processes; the apex or tip of the cerci pointed and the tooth of cerci in the proximal half; female subgenital plate bilobate; ovipositor large and broad, black with light brownish base and regularly curved.
