Miscophus niger Dahlbom, 1844:236 , male, female, Syntypes: Sweden: Gävleborg: Glösbo; Gotland: Stenkjörke; and Germany: Rixdorf near Berlin (Lund).

Geographic distribution. From Central and southeastern Europe eastwards to Central Asia and Siberia. In Germany mainly in the eastern part, some records also from the south.
