Geographic distribution. Southwest Europe, North Africa and Canary Islands to Israel and Syria. Reaches southern Switzerland, Austria (Osttirol) and Germany (Baden-Württemberg) in Central Europe. Records from Greece ( Standfuss & Standfuss 2012) are doubtfull and may refer to M. niger View in CoL .
