Diagnosis. Idiosomawide, oval. Onlyanarrowslitcanbeobservedbetweenperitrematalshieldsanddorsalshields, ortheseshieldsarefusedwith eachother. Posterolateraltipsofperitrematalshieldsexpandedposteriorly, oftenfusedwithventrianalshield. Peritremesofgeneralsize, expandedtoanteriorhalfofcoxaeIII, straightorslightlybent. Setaer1 andr3 shiftedventrallytoperitrematalshields, bothshort, bristle-like, usuallysmooth. Glandsgv2 present, theiropeningssurroundedbysmalladgenitalsclerites. Ventrianal shieldbearing 19 or 21 setae, setaeZv1 usuallyabsent. Glandsgv3 situated anterolateraltoadanalsetae. Setaez1 absent. Thirdpairofopisthonotalpores associatedwiththeJ-series (inposition gdJ2 or gdJ3). Marginofopisthonotum with 7 pairsofR-setae. SetaeS1 andmost (anterior) R-setaerelativelylong, denselypilose. Remarks. Redifiningthedisgnosisof Micorzercon accordingtothepreviousobservationsofUJVÁRI (2011 b, c, 2013) onderivativecharactersuseful forgenericclassificationresultedinrecognisingseveraljuniorsysnonimous names as follows.
Thegenus Bakeras wasestablishedwithoutcomparisonto Microzercon , whileallmaincharactersofthesetwogeneraarecorresponding. ThereforeI proposeherethat Bakeras isajuniorsynonymof Microzercon , whichresultsin a new combination: Microzercon opiparus ( Błaszak, 1984) comb. n.
In the meantime, the genus Blaszakiella was established on the basis of thepresenceofadgenitalplates. Both Microzercon and Blaszakiella possessthe characteristicadgenitalglands gv2, butithasveryminorimportancewhether theseglandsaresorroundedbyasmall, sclerotizedareaornot, assomany transitionalformswereobservedonthenewlydiscoveredspeciespresented herein. Thus Blaszakiella isajuniorsynonymof Microzercon , whichresultsina newcombination: Microzerconamericanus (SikoraetSkoracki, 2008) comb. n.
Accordingtothedescriptionandreconstructedfiguresofthefossilegenus Paleozercon ithasalsoturnedoutthatthereisonlyaminordistinctive featurebetweenitand Microzercon . In Paleozercon , posterolateraltipsofperi- trematalshieldsendfreely, whilethesearefusedwiththeventrianalshield inthesofarknown Microzercon species. However, asitisdescribedbelow, somespecies, e.g. Microzerconopiparus ( Błaszak, 1984) comb. n., mayshow bothcharacterstagesregardingthesituationofperitrematalshieldtips, thus itcannotbeconsideredasamajordistinctivefeatureofgenera. Itherefore proposethat Paleozercon isajuniorsynonymof Microzercon , whichresultsina new combination: Microzercon cavernicolus ( Błaszak et al., 1995) comb. n.
