Distribution. Colombia.
This name is the replacement name for Bryaxis nasuta Reitter (1882a: 142) , which was described from Honda am Magdalena, in Colombia. Schaufuss (1887: 119) listed this species from “ Brasilia ”, which was repeated by the following authors ( Blackwelder 1944: 94; Park 1942: 146; Raffray 1904b: 241 [lists Bresil only]; Raffray 1908a: 240; Raffray 1911: 103; Reitter 1900: 11; C. Schaufuss 1888: 29). Newton et al. (2005: 39) pointed out that the record for Brazil is an error based on the known data.
