Historic records: none

Material examined: Varela (12º 17´35.44´´ N, 16º 34´44.91´´ W, 22m alt.) (CAC), 26.VI.1992, 1 ♂, LT, A. Serrano leg., PMC (Nº 12138), in MUHNAC (Nº 23295) .

Remarks. A species belonging to the C. sulcatus group (sensu Schein 1954a). See also general comments in Schein (1954a) and the remarks under the genus Coenochilus ( Serrano et al. 2020) . The GBI adult male specimen fits very well the original description ( Moser 1915) and the parameres conformation ( Fig. 4 g ) ( Schein 1954a). It was sampled by LT ( Fig. 2c ). The species is a new record for Guinea-Bissau.
