Strongylocotes Taschenberg, 1882: 54 (Type species: Goniodes complanatus Piaget, 1880 , by subsequent designation). This genus contains 22 species distributed on birds of the Tinamidae View in CoL genera Crypturellus View in CoL (15 species), Nothura View in CoL (1), Nothocercus View in CoL (2), Rhynchotus View in CoL (1) and Tinamus View in CoL (3).
