( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 28 – 36 , 69 View FIGURES 59 – 70 , 83 View FIGURES 81 – 83 )
Diagnosis: Head about as wide as mesoscutum, scarcely or not deflected from body; genal processes divergent, variably upturned ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 28 – 36 ). Antennae 2.0-3.6 times longer than head width; segment 3 the longest; terminal setae truncate, one smaller than the other. Pronotum anteriorly with a central spine-like tubercle projected forward, posteriorly with two rounded tubercles on each side. Forewing with strict trifurcation; membrane often maculated ( Fig. 69 View FIGURES 59 – 70 ). Meracanthus prominent; metatibia with prominent genual spine and 3+1 apical spurs. Male proctiger with anus directed anteriorly; paramere often with well-developed posterior lobe. Female proctiger usually truncate or rounded with a dorsal sclerotised, transverse groove distal to circumanal ring ( Crawford 1914; Brown & Hodkinson 1988).
Biology and damage: Immatures of Leuronota calycophylli Burckhardt & Couturier , for instance, are found feeding on Calycophyllum spruceanum (Rubiaceae) , inducing marginal rolls on young shoots inside which they live ( Burckhardt & Couturier 1994).
Host-plants: Acanthaceae , Boraginaceae , Calophyllaceae , Cannabaceae , Cunoniaceae , Dipterocarpaceae , Meliaceae , Rubiaceae , Rutaceae and Solanaceae ( Brown & Hodkinson 1988; Burckhardt 1988; Ouvrard 2017).
Distribution: Southern United States, Central and South America, tropical Asia ( Hodkinson 1989).
