Type material: Holotype: male from Usina Hidrelétrica Sérgio Motta, Presidente Epitácio, São Paulo, Brazil [21º45’S, 52º06’W], 20–25 March 2001, J.P. Guadanucci & R. Bertani ( IBSP 53211). Paratype: 1 male, same data as holotype ( IBSP 120597).

Additional material examined. BRASIL: São Paulo: 1 male, Primavera, Usina Hidrelétrica Sérgio Motta, 2001, Equipe IBSP ( IBSP 53167).

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality, the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Adjective.

Diagnosis. This species is very similar to both K. adisi sp. nov. and K. vochysiae sp. nov. by the embolus curving far from the tegulum, but differs from them by having a short and thin RTA ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23 – 28. K ).

Description. Male holotype: Total length: 3.80. Carapace dark brown, 1.55 long, 1.00 wide, 0.55 high, with a narrow marginal stripe of white scales. Ocular quadrangle 0.80 long. Anterior eye row 0.87 wide and posterior 0.90 wide. Clypeus covered with white scales. Chelicera dark brown. Endite rounded, dark brown. Labium and sternum dark brown. Palp dark brown, with a short and thin RTA, posterior portion of the tegulum projected and embolus curving far from the tegulum ( Figs 23–24 View FIGURES 23 – 28. K ). Legs 4132, yellow, except the femora I–II laterally dark brown and femora III–IV black; patella I–II prolaterally dark brown; metatarsus III and tibia III retrolaterally dark brown; tibia IV laterally dark brown and metatarsus IV retrolaterally dark brown. Length of femur: I 0.60, II 0.52, III 0.62, IV 0.80; patella + tibia: I 0.80, II 0.65, III 0.60, IV 0.95; metatarsus + tarsus: I 0.55, II 0.52, III 0.70, IV 0.77. Spinulation: femur I=II=III=IV d1-1-1; tibia I=II v1 r-0- 0, III=IV v1 pdi; metatarsus I=II v2-1 p, III=IV p1di, r1di, v1 di. Abdomen dark brown with a median transverse light stripe and a second anterior transverse light stripe, almost interrupted medially; ventrally cream colored. Spinnerets yellow.

Female: Unknown.

Note. Since females are still unknown, this species is tentatively included in the genus based on similarities between the male and males of other species of Kupiuka gen. nov.

Distribution. Known only from the State of São Paulo, Brazil.
