Type material: Holotype: female from Rio Tarumã-Mirim, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil [03º01’S, 60º09’W], 1979–1980, J. Adis ( IBSP 67080).
Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality. Noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. Females of this species can be easily distinguished from the remaining known females of the genus by the posterior spurs and the narrow extra spermathecae in the epigyne ( Figs 15–16 View FIGURES 15 – 16 ).
Description. Female holotype: Total length: 2.15. General coloration as in K. extratheca , except for dorsal abdomen. Carapace 1.27 long, 0.77 wide, 0.42 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.70 long. Anterior eye row 0.75 wide and posterior 0.72 wide. Palp yellow. Legs 4312, yellow. Length of femur: I 0.52, II 0.47, III 0.55, IV 0.80; patella + tibia: I 0.65, II 0.57, III 0.60, IV 0.80; metatarsus + tarsus: I 0.45, II 0.40, III 0.62, IV 0.72. Spination as in K. extratheca sp. nov. The median pair of light areas on the dorsal abdomen is fused to the anterior pair, and these two longitudinal light areas and fused anteriorly, forming a recurved bow along the anterior border of the dorsal abdomen. Epigyne with a pair of posterior, lateral spurs; coiled openings, long copulation ducts and narrow extra spermathecae ( Figs 15–16 View FIGURES 15 – 16 ).
Male: Unknown.
Remarks. K. taruman sp. nov. and K. overalli sp. nov. have both a similar general appearance and are known from relatively close areas. However, the embolus of K. overalli sp. nov. is at least twice as thick as the copulation ducts present in the epigyne of K. taruman sp. nov., which indicates that, despite both species might have long emboli and copulation ducts, these types do not belong to the same species. The male holotype of K. adisi sp. nov. and the female holotype of K. taruman sp. nov. were collected in the same locality (along Rio Tarumã-Mirim), but these two have very different color patterns (see descriptions), mostly on the abdomen and legs, and are considered as belonging to different species. Also, the dorsal portion of the carapace in K. adisi sp. nov. is slightly more rounded than in K. taruman sp. nov.
Distribution. Known only from the State of Amazonas, Brazil.
