Aclastus can be distinguished from other Hemitelina by the following features in combination: clypeus narrow and strongly convex ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A); mandibles twisted inward, in frontal view only upper tooth is visible ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A); mesoscutum smooth and shiny ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 A–B), vein 3 rs-m absent ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 A), vein 2 m-cu with one bulla or sometimes not pigmented (e.g. in A. solutus ), vein Cu 1 of hind wing absent ( Figs 5 View FIGURE 5 A–B); area superomedia of propodeum hexagonal, often wider than long, receiving costula a little in front of the middle ( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 E–F); tergites II and III not fused ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 E–F); and apex of ovipositor elongate without distinct nodus ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C).
