Diagnosis. Aedeagal sheath ventro-apically with a pair of strongly sclerotized postgonites as long as bifurcated processes of aedeagal median rod.

Supplementary description. Supracervical setae approximately 17. Dorsomedial, tentorial apodeme slightly longer than 1/2 basal, parallel portion of dorsolateral, tentorial apodeme. Arista with arb = 5–6/5. Palpus with hollow-shaped sense organ. Cibarial, medial sensilla 8–9 per side; posterior sensilla 5–6 per side. All tarsi with gray tarsomeres IV and V. Aedeagus with free sclerite within outer membrane (ch.59-1).

Specimen examined. Thailand: 1♂, above Sangwal, Doi Suthep , Chiang Mai, 1,250 m a.s.l., 6.i.2008, H. Bän- ziger leg. ( SEHU) ; 1♂, Tonluong Temple, Chiang Dao District , Chiang Mai, ~ 700 m a.s.l., 22.ii.2008, H. Bänziger leg. ( SEHU) .

Distribution. China (Yunnan), Thailand *.

Remarks. This species is closely related to the foregoing species, P. afoliolata , as having been misidentified to be the latter by Chen et al. (2005b). However, Cheng et al. (2008) found two distinct forms included in the paratypes of P. afoliolata and described one of them as a new species, i.e. P. xishuangbanna . These two species can be clearly distinguished from each other by the diagnoses revised in this study.
