Material ( NMSA - Type 1102): NAMIBIA: 6 ♂ (HT & PT) 3 ♀ ( PT): ' South West Africa 2516Ac / Maltahiihe Dist. Aandster / Farm , 1000 m. 16-II-1974 / ME Irwin, vegetated dune / and grassland'.

Etymology: L. aureus - golden (refers to shiny orange mystax of ♂).
