Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17–23 ) wingspan 20.5–21.5 mm. Calamotropha melli is diagnosed by the forewing with anterior 1/3 yellowish brown and posterior 2/3 white except distal 1/6 mixed with orange yellow scales, and a black apical spot edged with white except on the costal margin; in the male genitalia by the sacculus of the valva with variously sized dentations on about distal 2/5 ( Li & Li 2012: Fig. 4C View FIGURES 1–8 ); and in the female genitalia by the strongly sclerotized funnel-shaped antrum and the absence of a signum ( Li & Li 2012: Fig. 5C View FIGURES 1–8 ).
Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hong Kong, Sichuan, Yunnan), India, Sri Lanka.
