Record as epibiont on cnidarians: This species was reported as epibiont on polyparies of Sertularia , Plumularia and other hydrozoans from the coast of Norway ( Claparède & Lachmann 1859). Hincks (1873) reported this species on hydroid Halecium halecinum Linnaeus, 1758 from Menai Straits near Bangor, Devonshire, UK. It was also found on hydroids Obelia commissuralis and O. geniculata from Woods Hole, USA ( Root 1922). Recently it has been found on the colonies of hydroid polyp O. longissima (Pallas, 1766) in the White Sea ( Belokon et al. 2020; Khabibulina et al. 2021).
Remarks: The species was found on cnidarians only and has not been recorded on any other host.
