Relation to host. The mites are vagrant on the undersurfaces of the leaves, no visible damage seen. Etymology. The specific designation is derived from the specific name of the type host plant. Remarks. This new species is similar to Glyptacus lithocarpi Keifer, 1953 , but can separated as follows: in G. microcarpae , prodorsal shield sculptured with irregular short lines, empodium 5-rayed, dorsal annuli smooth; in G. lithocarpi , prodorsal shield not sculptured with irregular short lines, empodium 7-rayed, dorsal annuli with microtubercles ( Keifer 1953).
