Type species: Zygina kagina Matsumura, 1932 Zygina kagina Matsumura, 1932: 1124

Takama Dworakowska & Viraktamath, 1975: 523 n. syn.
Description. Body robust, without color pattern. Head in dorsal view rounded anteriorly, slightly narrower than pronotum, crown between eyes more than twice as wide as median length, anterior and posterior margins nearly parallel, coronal suture usually visible in basal half. Face short, lower part flattened in profile, anteclypeus inflated basally and narrowing apically; lorum small. Pronotum with posterior margin almost straight. Scutoscutellar sulcus deeply incised. Forewing with fourth apical cell short, length approximately half that of third apical cell, AA and AP veins present; hind wing with obvious subcostal vein.
Male basal abdominal apodemes narrow and short, not surpassing fourth sternite. Anal tube usually elongated, without appendage.
Male pygofer side short to long, denticulate caudally, setosity poorly developed, without setae or only with several short, fine setae at lower basal angle; dorsal appendage well-developed and sclerotized, elongate, immovably fused to pygofer side and connected to atrium of aedeagus by partially sclerotized ligament; ventral appendage absent. Subgenital plate without distinct basolateral projection, parallel-sided in basal half, lateral margin with distinct angulate protrusion subapically, ventral surface usually denticulate preapically; with 3–6 macrosetae in oblique row or irregularly arranged, with marginal row of rigid microsetae from near base to medial constriction and some microsetae scattered on distal disc. Style slender, apex acuminate, preapical lobe weakly produced. Connective U-shaped, fused to aedeagus, lateral arms sclerotized, without central lobe. Aedeagus distinctive, aedeagal shaft tubular, usually with paired processes; with large distally branched appendage arising from conjunction of aedeagus and connective and surrounding aedeagal shaft dorsally; ventral process welldeveloped; gonopore terminal or subapical, dorsal.
Distribution. China (Anhui, Hainan, Taiwan, Yunnan), India, Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka.
