Description (male). 6.0–7.0 mm. Dark reddish-brown, setae yellowish-brown. Tegument feebly shiny. Head. Punctures separated by a distance equal to their diameter. Frons flat, clypeus feebly depressed in the middle. Clypeus with the lateral margins subconvex.
Pronotum. Punctures separated by a distance less than their diameter. Base strongly bilobate, distinctly concave in the middle, obliquely divergent and concave on each side. Posterior edge obtuse. Lateral margin straight, feebly convergent to strongly convergent anteriorly. Anterior edge feebly sharp.
Elytra. Interstriae flat, feebly microreticulate, with fine, evenly dispersed punctation; punctures much smaller than on pronotum, separated by about 2–3 times their diameter, bearing thin, short setae. Anterior margin feebly oblique, abruptly projected obliquely from the base of 5th stria fitting basal margin of pronotum. Side of elytra evenly curved. Setae numerous, short, with even distribution on all interstriae
8th tergite. Smooth, shiny, with fine and even punctation. Deep furrow all along the inner side of margins. Apical margin strongly enlarged, notched at middle of inner border.
Sternites. Last sternite strongly enlarged; tegument feebly microreticulate, shiny, completely covered by dense punctation. Other sternites normally developed, feebly microreticulate, less shiny, with punctation restricted to the sides.
Legs. Outer margin of protibia tridentate in the apical third, teeth small; median tooth closer to the apical tooth, basal tooth small but clearly visible. Inner margin enlarged in middle, notched before apex, extended by triangular lamella in middle of notch ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 18 – 25 ).
Aedeagus ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10 – 17 ). Left paramere evenly enlarged in apical third, outer margin more projected forwards. Right paramere sinuate on outer margin, large and round at apex in lateral view.
Notes. Female similar to male, with simple inner margin of protibia. 8th tergite short, very transverse, furrow more superficial near the apical margin.
Distribution. This species is known only from Mt Koghis, its type locality, in southeast New Caledonia.
