The male specimen of Rhinotragus dorsiger Germar, 1824: 513 View in CoL , from Brasil (Acc 19988) is herein designated as the lectotype ( Figure 19 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17 ) in order to stabilize the taxonomy and facilitate further identifications of this species; one male specimen and 2 female, same locality, are herein designated as paralectotypes.
Type material. Lectotype male ( Figure 19 View FIGURES 17 – 20. 17 ) (present designation): “Hist. Coll. ( Coleoptera ) / Nr. 19988 / Rhinotragus dorsiger / Germ. / Brasil, v. Olf./ Zool. Mus. Berlin” and “ LECTOTYPE / Rhinotragus dorsiger Germar, 1824 / des. Monné & Monné 2015” ( ZMHB).
Paralectotypes: 1 male, 1 female, same labels: “Hist. Coll. ( Coleoptera ) / Nr. 19988 / Rhinotragus dorsiger / Germ. / Brasil, v. Olf./ Zool. Mus. Berlin” and “ PARALECTOTYPE / Rhinotragus dorsiger Germar, 1824 / des. Monné & Monné 2015” ( ZMHB).
Distribution. Bolivia, Brazil (Mato Grosso, Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul), Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay.
