Notes :— Pedicularis diffusa was described by Prain (1893) based on the specimens collected by G. A. Gammie from Tankra Mountain, Sikkim, India. Four specimens of G. A. Gammie from Tankra Mountain, Sikkim were traced ( CAL0000019017 , CAL0000019019 , CAL0000019020 and K000708921). Of these, the best preserved specimen CAL0000019017, is chosen here as the lectotype ; also the illustration in the protologue is based on it. One specimen collected by J. D. Hooker from Sikkim, India was traced at CAL ( CAL0000019021 ) although not mentioned in protologue, is considered here as original material because it is annotated by Prain as “ P. diffusa Prain sp. nov. ”. Two more specimens of the same collection were also traced at P (P02985484 and P02985485) .
