Notes:— Hooker (1884) described Pedicularis flexuosa based on the collection of C. B. Clarke and on his gathering ( Pedicularis n. 5), from Sikkim, India between 10,000 –13,000 ft. Six specimens of Pedicularis n. 5 collected by J. D. Hooker (CAL0000019013, K000196141, K000196143, L2886112 and P02985327) and one of C. B. Clarke (CAL0000019014), from Sikkim were traced, all agreeing with the protologue. Having different date of collection the specimens of Pedicularis n. 5 don’t belong to the same gathering and aren’t duplicates (Art. 8.2 of the ICN). Of these, the better preserved specimen K000196141 from herbarium Hookerianum, is designated here as the lectotype.
