Material examined. Northern Khorasan province, Shirvan, 37°32′N 57°54′E, 1♂, August 2013. New record for Iran.
Distribution outside Iran. Palaearctic species ( Haeselbarth 1998, 1999), Central Asia, Western Europe ( Tobias 1986). Austria, Belarus, Belgium, former Czechoslovakia, Denmark, France, Germany, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Sitzerland, Ukraine, UK, Uzbekistan ( Yu et al. 2012), Hungary ( Papp 2006, 2008; Yu et al. 2012), Kazakhstan, Russia ( Tobias 1986; Yu et al. 2012), Turkey (Yilmaz et al. 2012; Koldaş et al. 2013; Yu et al. 2012).
Host records. Chrysolina banksi (Fabricius) , Timarcha anglica ?, T. coriaria ?, T. normanna Reiche , T. normandiana Bechyne , T. tenebricosa Fabricius ( Coleoptera : Chrysomelidae ), Orchesia micans (Panzer) ( Coleoptera : Melandryidae ) ( Yu et al. 2012). Tobias (1986) reported Orchesia micans (Panzer) ( Coleoptera : Melandryidae ) as well as many Timarcha spp. ( Coleoptera : Chrysomelidae ) as hosts of P. falciger .
