Distribution in Iran. Ardabil ( Ghahari et al. 2009b; Sedighi and Madjdzadeh 2015), Iran (no specific locality) ( Farahani et al. 2014a).

Distribution outside Iran. Europe (including Balkan), East Palaearctic (van Achterberg and Koponen 2003). Albania, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Tajikistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Austria ( Szépligeti 1904; Yu et al. 2012), Bulgaria (Hudddleston 1976; Papp 2003a under the subfamily Neoneurinae ), Croatia ( Papp 2009b; Yu et al. 2012), Germany ( Szépligeti 1904; Hudddleston 1976; Papp 2003a; Yu et al. 2012), Greece ( Papp 2003a, 2007), Hungary ( Szépligeti 1904; Papp 2003a; Papp 2008 under the subfamily Neoneurinae ; Yu et al. 2012), Japan ( Watanabe 1937 under the subfamily Neoneurinae ; Yu et al. 2012), Macedonia (Hudddleston 1976; Yu et al. 2012), Mongolia (Hudddleston 1976; Papp 2003a, 2009b under the subfamily Neoneurinae ; Yu et al. 2012), Netherlands ( Papp 2003a), Russia ( Tobias 1986; Papp 2003a), Turkey ( Yilmaz et al. 2010; Yu et al. 2012), UK ( Tobias 1971; Broad and Shaw 2009; Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. In Europe, it is reported from Formica rufa Linnaeus ( Ruthe 1858; Giraud 1871; Olivier 1893; Huddleston 1976), F. pratensis Retzius ( Schmiedeknecht 1914; Huddleston 1976), Camponotus spp., Formica spp. ( Forel 1874), Lasius niger (Linnaeus) ( Hymenoptera : Formicidae ) ( Forel 1890; Huddleston 1976; Tobias 1986). In Japan, it is reported from Formica japonica Motschulsky ( Hymenoptera : Formicidae ) ( Watanabe 1935), Polyergus s sp., Formica sanguinea Latreille, F. f u s c a Linnaeus ( Huddleston 1976; Tobias 1986) ( Hymenoptera : Formicidae ).
