Distribution in Iran. Isfahan (Ghahari et al. 2011a as R. similis ), West Azarbaijan (Rastegar et al. 2012 as R. similis ).

Austria, China, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Belgium (Wesmael 1838 as Exithecus intermedius; Yu et al. 2012), Czech Republic (Lozan et al. 2010; Yu et al. 2012), Hungary ( Papp 2008; Yu et al. 2012), Serbia (Stanković et al. 2010 under the subfamily Rhysipolinae ), UK ( Marshall 1885; Szépligeti 1904; Yu et al. 2012), Vietnam ( Belokobylskij 1988; Yu et al. 2012), Turkey ( Beyarslan 2015 under the subfamily Doryctinae ).

Host records. It has been reported as an ectoparasitic braconid species of Caloptilia betulicola (M. Hering) ( Lepidoptera : Gracillariidae ) in Serbia (Stanković et al. 2010), Mygdalinus sp. ( Coleoptera : Gasterophilidae ), Pegomya hyoscyami (Panzer) ( Diptera : Anthomyiidae ), Euphranta connexa (Fabricius) ( Diptera : Tephritidae ), Loxostege sticticalis (Linnaeus) ( Lepidoptera : Crambidae ), Elachista sp. ( Lepidoptera : Elachistidae ), Scrobipalpa atriplecella (Fischer von Röslerstamm) Syncopacma coronillella (Treitschke) , Teleiodes luculella (Hübner) ( Lepidoptera : Gelechiidae ), Acrocercops brongniardella (Fabricius) , Caloptilia alchimiella (Scopoli) , C. robustella Jäckh , C. rufipenella (Hübner) , Gracillaria syringella (Fabricius) , Parornix sp., Phyllonorycter emberizaepenella (Bouché) , P. ilicifoliella (Duponchel) , P. nigrescentella (Logan) , P. quercifolliella (Zeller) , P. roboris (Zeller) ( Lepidoptera : Gracillariidae ), Leucoptera laburnella (Stainton) ( Lepidoptera : Lyonetiidae ), Mompha raschkiella (Zeller) , M. terminella (Humphreys & Westwood) ( Lepidoptera : Momphidae ), Agnathosia mendicella (Denis & Schiffermüller) ( Lepidoptera : Tineidae ), Emmetia gaunacella (Duponchel) ( Lepidoptera : Tischeriidae ), Ancylis mitterbacheriana (Denis & Schiffermüller) , Caloptilia betulicola (M. Hering) , Cydia cosmophorana (Treitschke) ( Lepidoptera : Tortricidae ) ( Yu et al. 2012; Beyarslan 2015). In Hungary, it is reared from the larvae of Paromyx sp. ( Lepidoptera : Gracillariidae ) on Crataegys monogyna , and fom Phyllonorycter spp. ( Lepidoptera : Gracillariidae ) on Coryllus avelana ( Papp 2008).
