Type material. CHINA: Hainan Island: Holotype Ƌ, Tianchi (18°25′N, 108°28′E), Jianfengling, 810m, 30.III.2008, coll. Bingbing Hu and Haiyan Bai, genitalia slide No. DZH12281. Paratypes: 2Ƌ, same data as holotype, genitalia slide No. DZH09034; 1♀, 790m, 1.IV.2008, genitalia slide No. HS14138, other same data as holotype; 5♂, 1♀, Tianchi (18.44°N, 108.52°E), Jianfengling, 787m, 5-10.III.2016, coll. Qingyun Wang, Suran Li and Shengnan Zhao, genitalia slide No. HS16028♀.
Diagnosis. This species is similar to P. forticosta Kim et Park, 2012 . Promalactis lucida sp. nov. can be distinguished by the following character states: an uncus not bifurcate, and spines absent on the ventrapical process of the valvae in the male genitalia.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) with forewing expanse 9.0 mm. Head ochreous yellow. Labial palpus with second palpomere ochreous yellow, third palpomere blackish brown except white at base, slightly shorter than second palpomere. Antenna with scape brown bearing white spots; flagellum black alternated with white dorsally, brown ventrally. Thorax ochreous brown except dark brown apically, tegula ochreous yellow. Forewing ochreous yellow, with dense black scales ranging from distal part of costa along termen to tornus; wide ill-defined blackish brown band extending from costal 2/3 straightly to dorsum; eight silvery spots glowing a purplish luster and bordered with dense black scales: costa with a spot above upper angle of cell; cell with a spot before middle of upper margin, with a small spot at middle before outer margin; two dots above and below middle of fold, forming a straight discontinuous stripe with the spot before middle of upper margin of cell; three spots between apex and end of fold along termen; stripe from 2/3 of dorsum oblique outward to before lower angle of cell; cilia black mixed with yellow along distal 1/6 of costa, yellow along termen to tornus, brown at tornus. Hindwing and cilia blackish brown. Fore leg blackish brown, dorsally marked with white stripes on tibia, ringed with white on tarsi; mid leg blackish brown, tarsi marked with white stripes on inner surface; hind leg with femur yellow, tibia grayish brown, tarsi blackish brown, tinged with white stripes on ventral surface, white at apex of each tarsomere on dorsal surface.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 16 – 19 ). Uncus subtrapezoidal, broad at base, narrowed distally, truncate apically. Gnathos membranous, indistinct anteriorly; lateral arms sclerotized. Tegumen short, branched from middle, not clearly separated from vinculum. Valva short, widened medially, narrowed and curved ventrad distally, slight concave at distal 1/3 of ventral margin, rounded apically; costa arched; sacculus wide, almost same width, reaching 2/3 length of valva, bearing a triangular process at dorsoapical corner, weakly sclerotized and horizontally extending outward. Saccus broad at base, gradually narrowing to 2/5, very narrow from 2/5 to 3/4, widended in distal 1/4, broadly rounded apically, about 1.5 times length of uncus. Juxta very slender, weakly sclerotized. Phallus slender, slightly undulating, about 3 times length of valva, with a strong curved spine at distal 1/4 ventrally; cornutus absent.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 20 – 27 ). Apophysis anterioris about half length of apophysis posterioris. Ostium bursae rounded. Ductus bursae sclerotized in basal 4/7, weakly sclerotized from 4/7 to 6/7, with six small spines, membranous in distal 1/7. Corpus bursae elongate ovate; two signa elongate elliptic, with dense rows of numerous small teeth.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Etymology. The name is derived from the Latin lucidus (luminant), referring to the silvery markings with blue luster on the forewing.
