Annual, somewhat pubescent below with simple, forked and stellate hairs. Leaves 9-35 x 3-10 mm, oblong-lanceolate or elliptical, dentate, sessile or very shortly petiolate. Scapes 8-30 cm, 1-several. Inflorescence 5- to 30-flowered; involucral bracts 2-4 mm, oblong or lanceolate. Pedicels at least 3 times as long as bracts. Calyx 2-5-3-5 mm, divided to about the middle. Corolla 4-5(-6) mm, white or pink. Seeds 0-5-1 mm, numerous. Dry places. N. & C. Europe, extending southwards to the S. W. Alps and S. Russia. Au Cz Da Fe Ga Ge He It No Po Rm Rs (N, B, C, W, E) Su.
