Annual. Leaves 6-14 x 1-5-5 mm, lanceolate or oblanceolate, entire or dentate, finely ciliate. Scapes 4-10 cm, usually numerous, densely pubescent with forked hairs. Inflorescence many-flowered, lax; involucral bracts 3-8 mm, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate. Pedicels 2-8 times as long as bracts, glabrous. Calyx 3-5-5 mm, glandular-pubescent. Corolla c. 3 mm, white, shorter than the calyx-lobes. Seeds c. 1 mm, c. 5. Dry open habitats. From C. Germany eastwards to E.C. Russia and Bulgaria; Sicilia; Pyrenees.
