Plant 30-80 cm. Leaves 25-70 x 18-45 mm, the middle and upper ovate, coarsely dentate or crenate-serrate, with 6-10 teeth on each side, the lower suborbicular. Peduncle up to 15 mm. Lower calyx-teeth 3-4 mm. Corolla 15-22 mm. 2« = 24. From S. England and France eastwards to S. W. Ukraine.
