Glabrescent to villous, green perennial up to 30 cm. Leaves 10-35 x 5-20 mm, elliptical to obovate or oblanceolate, subentire to crenate or crenate-dentate, sessile or shortly petiolate. Verticillasters 5—10(—15), 6-flowered, laxly crowded or more or less distant. Lower bracts 8-9 mm, ovate-cordate or -elliptical, prominently toothed, sometimes with only a few teeth. Calyx 9-17 mm, with a ring of hairs inside. Corolla 9-20 mm, yellow, usually dark brown or purplish-tinged inside. • S. France, E. Spain. Ga Hs.
