Annual; stem 5-20(-35) cm. Leaves 2-5x1 0-3 0 mm, elliptical to oblong, strigose. Bracts like the leaves but smaller; pedicels deflexed in fruit. Calyx 2-4 mm, with hooked or curved hairs; lobes linear, becoming patent then incurved in fruit. Corolla 2-4 mm, blue, with or without saccate invaginations in the throat; lobes ovate. Nutlets c. 3 mm, glochidiate. Dry, stony ground. E. Romania, Greece and S. part o f U.S.S.R.; C. & S. Spain. G r Hs Rm Rs (C, W, K, E).
