Corollatube about twice as long as calyx; anthers and style exserted. Calyx-teeth and nutlets as in subsp. (b). 2« = 32. • S.E. Austria, Romania, Poland.
Plants from Romania like subsp. (c) but without hooked hairs or bristles have been described as M. transsylvanica Pore. , Magyar Növ. Lapok 9: 130 (1885).
