Stem up to 50 cm, simple or branched, with or without black streaks, subglabrous. Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, acuminate, densely serrate-dentate. Bracts equalling calyx, triangular-ovate, glabrous; teeth subulate, gradually diminishing in length towards apex, the upper appressed. Calyx glabrous. Corolla 18-20 mm; tube slightly curved. Krym. Rs (K). (Caucasus.)
Ecotypic variants:
Autumnal: Alectorolophus pectinatus Behrendsen , Verh. Bot. Ver. Brandenb. 45: 51 (1903).
Aestival: type of the species.
It is not certain that the aestival variant occurs in Europe.
