Like 1 but stem usually shorter; leaves not blackening on drying, mostly deltate, with subacute to acute teeth, hispid beneath, strigulose-scabrid above; upper leaves usually hairier than lower; calyx 9-5 mm; corolla 15-17 mm, white; capsule 10 mm, cuspidate, twisted at maturity. Mountains. • Açores (western group). Az. Sect, euphrasia. Annual. Leaves rapidly changing in shape from below upwards. Corolla not more than 13-5 mm; tube cylindrical.
