Glabrous except sometimes for a few hairs on young leaves and stems. Pedicel at anthesis about equalling subtending petiole. Corolla violet. Capsule c. 4 mm, considerably exceeding calyx. Seeds coarsely rugose. Throughout the range o f the species except parts o f Sicilia.
