Stems 30-100 cm, erect to ascending. Leaves 20-70 x 6-45 mm, ovate to oblong, sessile, truncate or subcordate at base, crenate to incise-serrate. Racemes long. Calyx and capsule hairy or glabrous. 2/7 = 64. Throughout the range o f the species except parts o f W. Europe.
