(a) Subsp. serpyllifolia :

Stems procumbent for only a short distance at base, the greater part erect. Racemes elongate, with 20-40 flowers, subglabrous to eglandular-pubescent; pedicels about as long as calyx. Corolla 6-8 mm, white or pale blue with dark blue veins. 2n= 14. Throughout the range o f the species, but mainly in the lowlands.
