Indian records. Andaman & Nicobar Islands — Venkataraman (1991b); General record— Fernando & Kanduru (1984), Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).
Remarks. Doubtful Indian record. This taxon was described from China ( Chiang 1956). It is a junior synonym of D. volzi Stingelin, 1905 ( Korovchinsky 1992, 2004). The description by Venkataraman (1991b), lacking any illustrations, is not detailed enough to unambiguously associate this record with any existing Diaphanosoma .
