Indian records. Rajasthan —Sharma V. et al. (2012); West Bengal —Sharma B.K. (1978); Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988), Chandrasekhar & Chatterjee (2002); General record—Sharma B.K. & Michael (1987), Murugan et al. (1998), Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).

Remarks. Valid species described from Norway ( Sars 1862b). Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988) clearly depicted a member of the O. tenuicaudis -group, yet the status of the Indian populations remains to be checked in detail.

Distribution. The presence of O. tenuicaudis s.str. has been confirmed in Europe only (Michael & Sharma B.K. 1988), but similar forms are widely distributed in Asia ( Smirnov 1971; Chiang & Du 1979), including the Oriental zone (Tanaka & Ohtaka 2010).
