Genus Armascirus Den Heyer, 1978
The main features separating the genus Armascirus from the other genera of the subfamily Cunaxinae were given by Den Heyer (1978), presented here with further modification. Palpal segment II (basifemur) with a simple dorsal seta; palpal segment III (telofemur) bears a spine-like dorsal seta; apophysis present on palpal segment IV (genu). Anal region with a pair of anal setae and one pair of para-anal setae. Dorsal plates reticulated. Proximal sensory complex on dorsal aspect of tarsus I with small famulus. Chaetotaxy of telofemora I–IV is 4 sts—4 sts—3 sts, 1 ms—3 sts, 1 ms; chaetotaxy of coxal plates I–IV is 3 – 1 (or 2 in ♀) or 2 (resp. 1 in ♂) – 3 – 3 sts. More details on generic features of Armascirus are shown in Skvarla & Dowling (2011).
