Comments: Niphetogryllacris genufuscata ( Karsch, 1891) , is hereby transferred to Barombogryllacris ( B. genufuscata ( Karsch, 1891) n. comb.), as it has similar diagnostic characters to B. barombica (Karsch, 1890) , such as tegmina shape, venation and ovipositor. B. nigriceps ( Karsch, 1891) is provisionally transferred to Afrogryllacris (Hyperbaeninae) , as we await the opportunity to examine males to confirm the new combination hereby proposed ( A. nigriceps ( Karsch, 1891) n. comb.), or perhaps this female could belong to a new genus similar to Afrogryllacris . The change in genus arises because the holotype female of the species initially adjusts better to the diagnostic characters of Hyperbaeninae than those of Gryllacridinae where Barombogryllacris , of the African genera, is currently placed. This species fits better to Afrogryllacris , although it is different from all other species of the genus in having a straight ovipositor and tegmina do not surpass the abdomen apex.
