Material: Slovakia, W Slovakia, “Pistyan” (=Pieštany): 1Ψ (holotype), 1Ψ (paratype), 20.VI.1901, Lichtwardt ( DEI); Hungary, Bócsa, lomberdő [deciduous forest]: 1ɗ, 24.V.1996, Kovács ( HNHM); Hungary, Bócsa, telepitett lomberdő [planted deciduous forest]: 1Ψ, 25.IX.1996, Kovács ( HNHM); Finland, Ta, Sysmä, Nilkkimäki, 68409:34306: 1Ψ, 27.VII.2006, Kahanpää ( PCJK).

Male: Body length: 5.2mm. Wing length: 4.8mm. Flagellum dark brown. Frons brown pollinose. Eyes meeting for slightly more than length of frons (18 facets). Occiput grey pollinose, except posterior to ocellar triangle brown pollinose. Postpronotal lobe dark brown. Prescutum and scutum brown pollinose, anterolaterally with weak greyish pollinosity. Pleura grey pollinose. Scutellum with apical fringe of about 12 evenly spaced hairs. Subscutellum grey pollinose. LTC about 1.1 times LFC. Trochanter yellowish brown. Femur with apex narrowly yellow, base anteroventrally somewhat yellowish brown only. Hind femur ventrally distinctly concave in basal half (as in Fig. 79 View FIGURES 74 – 83 ). Tibia yellow, ventromedially darkened. Tarsi yellowish, with distitarsi dark brown. Pulvilli of front legs slightly shorter than distitarsi. Tergite 1 dorsally in anterior two thirds brown, otherwise grey pollinose. Tergites 2–5 laterally with posterior half grey, anterior half brown pollinose Dorsally, tergite 2 entirely, tergite 3 in anterior four fifths, tergite 4 in anterior two thirds, tergite 5 in anterior third to half brown pollinose, otherwise shining. Membranous area key-hole shaped, with a weak vertical keel. Surstyli with straight inner margin and inward bent tip ( Figs 30–31 View FIGURES 30 – 35 ). All three ejaculatory ducts sclerotized to the same degree in distal half and mid brown in colour.

Female: Body length: 5.4–5.5mm. Wing length: 5.6–6.0mm. Flagellum variable, dark brown to yellow. Frons entirely grey pollinose. Postpronotal lobe dark to mid brown, upper margin may be somewhat yellowish. Prescutum and scutum grey pollinose except dorsocentrally in posterior two thirds brown pollinose. Pleura and subscutellum grey pollinose. LTC about 1.1–1.2 times LFC. Trochanter, base and apex of femur narrowly yellow. Tibia yellow except darkened ventromedially. Tarsal segments yellowish with distitarsi darkened. Pulvilli of fore leg 1.3 times length of distitarsi and somewhat broader. Pollinosity of abdominal tergites variable. In type specimens tergites 1–3 (or 4) brown pollinose dorsally in anterior half, otherwise grey and tergite 4 (or 5)–6 narrowly brown pollinose anterodorsally, grey posterolaterally, posterodorsally shining. Specimen from Finland with tergites 1–6 laterally almost entirely grey pollinose and dorsally with tergites 1–3 almost entirely brown pollinose and tergite 4 brown pollinose in anterior half, tergites 5–6 only narrowly along anterior margin, otherwise shining. Ovipositor shining except narrowly grey pollinose at beginning of dark base. In lateral view, base with a ventral step, piercer yellowish, long and straight ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 55 – 66 ). When viewed dorsally, base of piercer can be more egg-shaped than indicated in Fig. 56 View FIGURES 55 – 66 .

Annotations: The male sex was first characterized by Földvári & Kozánek (2001) based on two males collected together with a female. At the same locality (Bócsa), two more females were collected four months later the same year. Figure 30 View FIGURES 30 – 35 slightly differs from the figure presented in Földvári & Kozánek (2001) in the structure of the surstyli, due to intraspecific variation and/or a slightly different perspective while drawing the structures.
