scientific name

Microctonus amaraphagus
status

M. amaraphagus Loan

Figures 14–16

Microctonus amaraphagus Loan, 1979, p 394 .

Distribution: South Dakota.

Specimens examined: Three from a single collection event.

Flight period: May.

Remarks: The complete occipital carina and slightly darker mesopleuron are the only morphological characters deemed here to differentiate it from M. muesebecki . This is considered a tenuous distinction as the incomplete occipital carina can be nearly complete and coloration is variable in M. muesebecki . The additional twenty-nine specimens that keyed to M. amaraphagus are qualified with a question mark.
