scientific name

Microctonus nigritus
status

M. nigritus (Provancher) nomen dubium

Perilitus nigritus Provancher, 1888, p 379 View in CoL .

Microctonus nigritus Muesebeck, 1936, p 18 .

Distribution: Quebec.

Specimens examined: Damaged lectotype.

Flight period:?

Remarks: The lectotype at the Provincial Museum, Quebec is the only known specimen. It lost but for a single leg. The specimen Muesebeck (1936) mentioned as the only other known specimen conforms with M. blapstini . Loan (1969) treated both species in his key but the present author does not recognize adequate resolution of M. nigritus in any of the literature.
