Genus Calholaspis Berlese, 1918
Dorsal shield bearing more than 60 pairs of smooth setae (in C. trianothrix more than 150 pairs of trident-like setae). Pre-sternal area with one pair of elongated pre-sternal platelets. Sternometasternal shield bearing four pairs of smooth setae st1–4, fused to endopodal, exopodal and peritrematal shields between coxae I–II (endopodal shield III free in C. trianothrix ). Genital shield free and broader than long, usually trapezoidal, bearing one pair of smooth genital setae st5. Peritrematal shields fused to exopodal shield and sternal shield between coxae I–II. Ventrianal shield subtriangular, with 6–8 pairs of smooth pre-anal setae (holotype of C. superbus with six setae on one side, eight setae on other) or with at least 60 pairs of trident-like setae in C. trianothrix . Epistome often produced into a long median spine (trifurcate, median process acuminate, lateral processes short and broad; margin serrated in C. superbus ). Chelicera chelate-dentate, fixed digit with three large teeth and several small teeth, movable digit bearing two large teeth (multidentate in C. trianothrix ). Cheliceral seta smooth. Males unknown.
