Subfamily Sarindinae Simon, 1901
Sarindeae Simon, 1901: 505 (Type genus: Sarinda Peckham & Peckham, 1892 ); Roewer 1954.
Zuningeae [sic] Simon, 1901: 519 (Type genus: Zuniga Peckham & Peckham, 1892 ); Roewer 1954, NEW SYNONYMY.
Monophyly: Despite being distinct among ant-like amycoids (the robust body resembles that of ants of the genus Camponotus Mayr ), there are few well-articulated synapomorphies of this group. Possible synapomorphies are: inflation of the female palps, which have modified, spiraled asymmetrical black scales; elongation of the front legs; and male chelicerae with modified white scales. We are doubtful of the concatenated molecular results placing Titanattus as sister to Zuniga , as discussed above.
