Plants annual, erect, 60– 180 cm tall. Stems branched, sometimes simple, succulent and glaucous, lower nodes swollen. Leaves simple, alternate; lamina 4–15 cm long, 3–9 cm wide; adaxially glabrous, green, abaxially light green, glaucous, margin crenate to undulate, margin crenations rounded with short awn, younger leaves more or less membraneous, apex acute, base truncate to cordate, petiolated; petiole 2–9 cm long with a large scutellate gland at the outer base. Inflorescence raceme with 4-8 flowers, 8–16 cm long having stout, elongated at fruiting, erect, glaucous peduncle. In lower part of the stem abortive inflorescences could develop. Flower buds greenish. Flower 2–3 cm across, light pink to white; pedicellate, pedicel 1.5–3 cm long, bend at fruiting, smooth with bract present at middle of pedicel. Bracts elliptic or ovate, concave, 3–7 mm long. Sepals 3, lateral sepals 2, whitish or pinkish, ovate to cordate, opposite, base cordate, margin entire, 4–6 mm long, 5–6 mm wide, apex apiculate, greenish. Lower sepal with spur, bucciniform, 1.4– 2 cm long, 1.7–2.1 cm deep, whitish with yellowish to rusty markings in ventral part, spur 4–6 mm long, straight, greenish, with bifid tip. Dorsal petal 1.0– 1.5 cm long, 1–1.4 cm wide when flattened, cucullate, whitish to pale pink, upper part with inconspicuous crest, crest 2–3 mm high. Lateral united petals light pink with some rusty spots at junction of upper and lower lobe, 1.8–2.8 cm long, upper lobe oblong, 1.0– 1.3 cm long, 0.5–0.8 cm wide, lower lobe triangular-ovate, apex attenuate, 1.3–1.8 cm long, ca. 1.0 cm wide. Stamens 5, anthers without appendage. Capsules 2.5–4 cm long, hanging, pale green with dark green to reddish longitudinal lines, linear to oblong, apex acuminate, glabrous, wavy outline. Seeds 4–9, obovate to rounded, 3.5–4.5 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, surface rough, brown.
