Endevoura mirabilis . — Nagata, 1965: 146, figs 2, 3.— Ishimaru, 1994: 57.

Material. Presumed lost (Morino pers comm., 2014). Male, 10.5 mm, “ types are preserved in my hand for the present KN No.” Nagata (1965), Suô Nada, Seto Inland Sea, Japan, western North Pacific Ocean (approx. 33°45'N, 132°00'E), 30–60 m, bottom-layer net, 12–16 June 1959, coll. R. Kitamori (Area XI-a). Other specimens: 4 specimens, unsexed (body lengths 3.5–10.5 mm), Suô Nada, Seto Inland Sea, Japan, western North Pacific Ocean (approx. 33°45'N, 132°00'E), 10–60 m, bottom-layer net, 2–5 September 1960, coll. R. Kitamori (Area XI-b) [Not examined].

Diagnostic. Head lateral cephalic lobe acute. Maxilla 1 palp article 2 with 13 setae. Maxilliped inner plate 2 robust setae. Coxae 1 to 3 ventral margin without fringe of fine setae. Gnathopod 1 basis anterior margin cuspidate. Pereopod 3 carpus posterior margin much shorter than free proximal margin of propodus, posteroproximal margin slightly produced, subtriangular; palm obtuse, margin convex. Epimeron 3 posteroventral corner subquadrate. Uropod 3 outer ramus 2 articulate; inner ramus subequal to article 1 of outer ramus. Telson slightly longer than broad, length 1.2 × breadth.

Description of male. Head lateral cephalic lobe acute. Mandible palp attached proximally, palp article 2 length 1.5 × article 3. Maxilla 1 inner plate with 1 apical seta; outer plate with 10 setal teeth; palp article 2 with 13 setae. Maxilla 2 inner plate subequal to outer plate. Maxilliped inner plate 2 robust setae; outer plate with 9 embedded setae; palp article 4 spatulate. Gnathopod 1 simple; basis anterior margin cuspidate. Pereopod 3 carpus posterior margin much shorter than free proximal margin of propodus, posteroproximal margin slightly produced, subtriangular; palm obtuse, margin convex. Epimeron 1 posteroventral corner rounded. Epimera 2–3 posteroventral corner subquadrate. Uropod 3 outer ramus 2 articulate; inner ramus subequal to article 1 of outer ramus. Telson slightly longer than broad, length 1.2 × width.

Female sexually dimorphic characters. Pereopod 3 carpus posterior margin about as long as free proximal margin of propodus; carpus posteroproximal margin not produced, subrectangular; propodus, posteroproximal margin produced into a lobe.

Remarks. Endevoura sp. of Nagata (1965) can be separated from E. mirabilis Chilton by the acute lateral cephalic lobe, the cuspidate anterior margin of the gnathopod 1 basis, maxilla 1 palp article 2 with 13 robust setae and the telson being longer than broad.

Distribution. Northwestern Pacific Ocean: Seto Inland Sea, Japan ( Nagata 1965).
