Cartusia Mai, Johansen et Pietrasiak gen. nov.
Description:— Filaments straight or flexuous, sometimes with more than one trichome in a common sheath, sometimes forming fascicles of trichomes, without false branching. Sheaths firm, thin, colorless. Trichomes not tapering, not or only slightly constricted at the cross-walls, up to 3.5 μm wide. Cells mostly shorter than wide up to isodiametric.
Etymology:— named for the ruins of the Cartusian Monastery in National Park Slovak Paradise, from which the reference strain was collected.
Type species:— Cartusia fontana Mai, Johansen et Pietrasiak , comb. nov.
