Type material. Holotype ( EUM): 1 male, “[MINDANAO] Motoklot 450m alt. Maitum SOUTH COTA- BATO 11. VIII. 1985 M. Sakai leg.”, genitalia on slide no. HY 971.

Description. Male. Body oblong, convex above, shining, closely covered with short setae throughout. Coloration of head, antennomeres 1–4, thorax and front and middle legs orange; elytra and hind legs brown; basal part of elytra narrowly orange.

Head moderate in size, slightly convex above, closely punctate; clypeus rather long, slightly expanded laterally, gently arcuate in front margin. Eyes moderate in size, slightly prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.2 times as long as the maximum diameter of the eye. Antennae relatively stout, reaching ca. proximal 1/ 4 of elytra. Pronotum slightly convex above in mesal part of the disk, punctured as on head; antero-lateral angles almost right-angled, gently projecting anteriorly; front margin almost straight; lateral and posterior margins gently arcuate; postero-lateral angles almost right-angled; PW/PL 2.35. Scutellum moderate in size, punctured as on head, equilateral-triangular. Elytra oblong, convex above, widest at proximal 1/3, punctured as on head; humeri slightly elevated; EL/EW 1.33; EL/PL 4.26; EW/PW 1.36; TL/EW 1.64. Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs gently curved laterally; dorsal spurs ca. 2.0 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.7 times as long as hind tarsomere 1. Sternites III–IV sparsely covered with short setae; sternites V–VII closely covered with short setae, but longer in lateral part. Tegmen and penis connected; basal part of tegmen oblong, sides subparallel; parameres short, distinctly curved ventrally, with pointed apices; penis relatively long, flat and expanded at apex, sparsely covered with minute serrae in apical part.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 3.58 mm; PW 1.60 mm; PL 0.68 mm; EL 2.90 mm; EW 2.18 mm.

Distribution. Philippines (Mindanao Isl.).

Etymology. The species name refers to the distinctly curved parameres.

Note. Externally resembling Scirtes sakaii sp. n., differing in genital morphology: penis much longer than parameres.
