Franck ( MNHB) ; 1 ♂, Guangdong Prov., Shaoguang, Nanling , 1000 m, 8.vii.2007 ( NSMT) ; 1 ♂, same locality, 800 m, 24.vi.2008 ( NSMT) ; 1 ♂, same locality, 600 m, 23.vi.2014 ( NSMT) ; 1 ♂, same locality, 600 m, 19.vii.2014 ( NSMT) . 3 ♂ 1 ♀, same locality, 800 m, 2–6.vii.2012 ( CAK) .
M. sangaica View in CoL was originally described from Shanghai, and the nominotypical subspecies is only known from China and Vietnam ( Arita & Gorbunov, 1995a, Špatenka et al. 1999, Arita & Kallies, 2000). The subspecies nipponica Arita & Yata, 1987 occurs in Japan. Several specimens were collected while visiting white flowering trees along a river valley.
